Two of the best bands from Chicago have records out on Criminal IQ this month. Southside all-Latino HC/Punk/seriously fuck you up band, I ATTACK, finally follow up their debut LP with an amazing 5 song 7” EP of hard, precise, and RAW punk rock that simply blows everything else away. The one two punch is completed with the highly anticipated debut LP by The PEDESTRIANS – Future Shock. The PEDS deliver solid mid-tempo old school punk rock in their own style – and although there have been comparisons made here and there, I would be more hesitant to compare them to bands past or present that they “supposedly” sound like – they do their own thing – they do it well and they are original. You can check out songs from both of these records here.

The new MOTO LP Raw Power ran thru it’s orginal pressing pretty quickly and has now been repressed and is AVAILABLE on vinyl once more. Reviews are still coming back on this record and have all been really favorable. Order this one today.

VEE DEE have replaced their former drummer, Don Flaiz, with ex-Baseball Furie gunner, Matt Williams, and are thankfully out playing again – they will record a new full length for Criminal IQ over the winter. We will be doing a small repress of 500 copies of their out of print debut LP “Furthur” soon.

FUNCTIONAL BLACKOUTS new LP – The Severed Tongue Speaks For Everyone – has been recorded mixed and mastered and we are awaiting artwork from the band for release this in December. You can find out what the Blackouts have been up to of late by clicking here. We await their MTV Europe debut with anticipation. Man about Town and FUNCTIONAL BLACKOUT drummer Brian Costello has just written a book, which is available for pre-ordering here.

Watch out for Issue 269 of Maximum Rock n’ Roll magazine which has a Chicago scene report written by Ken Wong (Roctober) with photo’s of MANHANDLERS, FUNCTIONAL BLACKOUTS, I ATTACK, and VEE DEE all done by Rob Karlic and Chris Anderson. Criminal IQ has been interviewed by MRR for an upcoming feature on the label and watch out for the PEDESTRIANS interview in that same magazine over the next couple of months. MOTO will be in the next edition of ARTHUR!

THE ROTTEN FRUITS and M.O.T.O. Records are starting to get around thru the usual distribution circuits - the Fruits 45
has recieved some great reviews on Max RocknRoll and Horizontal Action and there will be more to follow soon.

The New MOTO CD - Raw Power is also ace-ing it's way around the country - thanks largely to MOTO who have just
toured the west coast for the first ever time in their history. The LP version of the record has unfortunately had
a few gliches along the way - we have no firm date for delivery of the records as when we last called the manufacturer
I was told that his record press was broken and he coudn't fix it while he was on the phone with me. Hmmm. Apologies to
all who have been waiting but we do have all your names and addresses safely stashed away and when we finally receivethese
puppies YOURS will be the first ones we mail out. This presssing is limited to 300 copies only on white vinyl and we have
already pre-sold quite a few - I'm sure the rest of em will go quickly. So pre-ordering em is the way to go paypal
criminaliq @ hotmail.com (join the spaces) $12 which includes packing and we will put one aside for ye.

New FUNCTIONAL BLACKOUTS LP is being mixed down this weekend - it's a total killer. Not so much picking up where they left
off with their last LP as to exploring new depths of psychosis/madness- I've not really heard anything quite like it before.
mental. We are really excited about the new I ATTACK 7" that's also coming your way - this brilliant band has been around for
a coupla years now and put out a kicking LP on Wrench in the Gears Records last year (which, by the way, is available thru our
distro and hightly reccomended) - the 7" will rule your world.

May 26 2005

OK so we're late with the updates - well apologies for that we have been
very busy scraping up and slapping together some new releases of Chicago
criminal punk for your hungry ears - starting with the KRUNCHIES new LP In
De Winel which has been doing the rounds and getting some nice words said
about it all over the gaff.  Yellow Vinyl copies of this record are now sold
out and the others are selling fast so you should maybe hunt this puppy down
as sooon as you get a chance.

We also welcome the ROTTEN FRUITS to the Criminal IQ roster - the
self-proffessed "gayest band in Chicago" have recorded a new 4 song 7"
that's well worth a butchers hook - when we first heard the recordings we
laughed our asses off and so will you. It comes in limited quatities of
colored vinyl - Glazed Donut pink, Condom yellow, Rotten Apple, and Scat.
Completely retarded drunken queer punk!

The New MOTO CD's, "RAW POWER" are in stock now and will be going out to
distributers over the next couple of weeks - watch out for MOTO on tour to
the West Coast in June.  the LP's are at the pressing plant now and will not
be available for a few more weeks - 300 copies on white vinyl that will
probably go pretty quickly - you can pre-order yourself a copy by paypaling
$12 to criminaliq@hotmail.com and you'll be the first to get your hands on a
copy of the record, as soon as we get them from the manufacturer.

We're excited to announce that the Chicago powerhouse punk band I ATTACK
have recorded a 45 for Criminal IQ and the record will be set for release
over the summer.  Also on the cards is the new FUNCTIONAL BLACKOUTS LP , The
Severed Tongue Speaks For Everyone, which will blow everyone away when it's
released this fall.  Completely Psychotic.  People in Europe can check out
the upcoming issue of OX magazine for a FUNCTIONAL BLACKOUTS interview over
the next month or so.

Thanks to all the girls who've participated as our Criminal IQ Girl of the
Week  we are still collecting photo's from all the ladies and we ran out of
shirts pretty quickly.  Expect some more photo's up on line soon.  There are
a few girls that got the shirts and never bothered sending us the photo's
which kinda sucked.  So from now on if you want to be girl of the week send
us $10 and we'll send you a shirt.  if your photo's published on here we'll
send you a check for $10 - can't say fairer than that eh.

Last of all we'd like to thank everyone who's sent us demo's over the last
few months.  We really don't have time to write back to everyone critiquing
their work and as you all know we are only doing bands from Chicago now
because we're scared of the outside world (haha).  However their are plans
to do some records with some great out-of-towners sooner that you all think.
  Watch out for announcements  soon.

April 2005
SXSW was a blast - many thanks to all the venues and people that helped
house - feed- cloth and read bedtime stories to all the bands that attended.
Especially Sherry, max, and all at Beerland.  Hopefully we'll get another
chance to get down there and meet y'all again.

NEW releases -
The KRUNCHIES LP, In De Winkel, is now out and in all good record shops
today - if it's not you should do us a favor and ask em for it - they can
get it from one of our many great distros.  The LP itself is keeps in line
with all that we are trying to accomplish here at CIQ and stands out from a
shit pile of stuff being touted by the labels that are good at selling shit
to kiddies as "punk rock".  In De Winkel - my friends - is Punk Rock
incarnate.  Check it out TODAY!

The ROTTEN FRUITS have gifted us with their first 7" "the ABOMINATION EP" -
retarded and spazzed out queer boy punk rock the likes of which has not been
seen on this planet before.  The EP is available in 4 colors - condom
yellow, dildo green, glazed pink doughnut, and scat!  Pick it up from the
site or wait for it to hit the stores.

NEW MOTO
the New MOTO LP "Raw Power" is in the final stages of mixing/mastering right
now - we are hoping to get the first 300 copies out in time for the
Horizontal Action Blackout on May 20th - those first 300 will be pressed on
white vinyl and will come with a different cover than the one designed for
general release and will only be sold at shows and from our site.  If you
want to pre-order a copy send $12 (which includes postage) to
criminaliq@hotmail (add the .com) and we will reserve a copy for you.

GIRL OF THE WEEK
Girls wanting to submit photographs for the Girl of the Week section of the
web-site - please have some patience.  We just weren't ready for the demand
and ran out of shirts in those small girlie sizes quickly - we will accept
guys as girls of the week as well.  A quick note on what we are looking for
here - we are not really looking for nude stuff - we like pictures of nude
women - if you want to send them to us, they will be warmly received - don't
expect them to go up on the site though.  We like pictures that empower
women - women with money, women with knives or guns, women pushing men off
tall buildings, women feigning drug abuse, women playing instruments, women
fighting men, moshing,  commiting crimes, women with babies.  In short we
like women doing cool stuff that is bad ass.  We like pictures of women just
wearing the shirts, or modeling them, we like sploshing, but not cum shots,
we like spanking but not full blown anal penetration.  We like pictures of
women having fun and we like pictures of women fucking shit up.  Shots of
you doing it with your boyfriend are NOT acceptable unless you're throttling
him at the same time.  And a tip for you - we have a "thing" about women
doing naughty stuff in public rest rooms . Nuff said -good luck.

VEE DEE and Manhandlers at the METRO -

ROLLERS and The Pedriatic Airds Society.  This show is 18+ and starts late
